Bilodeau & Pearson Lead at Four-Ball Championship
BRIDGTON – Only one team in the field at Bridgton Highlands didn’t drop a shot today during the first round of the 2021 Four-Ball Championship, and they sit atop the leaderboard after day one. Brian Bilodeau and Jace Pearson (Martindale CC) shot an opening round 64 to take the early lead in the two-day competition.
Bilodeau made six birdies on his round, along with four from Pearson to set the pace after day one. The duo sits one shot clear of Ashley Fifield (Martindale CC) and Mike O’Brien (Biddeford-Saco CC), who opened with 65. O’Brien is coming in hot off a recent win yesterday at the Senior Match Play Invitational, to go with his Maine Senior Championship last month. He made six birdies on the day along with Fifield’s four to get into tomorrow’s final pairing The duo won this event in 2014 at Brunswick GC and look for a second win.
In third are Phil Barter (Brunswick GC) and Tim Demarais (Deep Brook GC), who sit tied with Ryan Low (Northport GC) and Mark Wallace (Augusta CC) at -6.
The net leaders after day one are Mike Collette and Jon King (Biddeford-Saco CC) after an opening 63.
Tomorrow’s second round will commence at 7:30 am, with the leaders going out at 11:00 am.
