Carrie Langevin at U.S. Senior Women's Amateur
POINT CLEAR, ALABAMA — Carrie Langevin of Augusta CC and Portland CC has qualified for the U.S. Women's Senior Amateur at Lakewood Club in Point Clear Alabama.
This is the second time Carrie has qualified for the event. She also qualified in 2018 when it was held Orchid Island Club in Vero Beach, FL.
The U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur will be held September 10-15 and consists of two 18-hole rounds of stroke play and six rounds of match play.
Carrie is looking forward to the event this year and setting her sights on match play. "This year, my goal is to make the cut and get to the Sunday Match Play. My husband, Lenny is caddying for me again. He is a great player, even better caddie, and is almost as excited about this as I am."
"I’m not really a practice round person, as I tend to peak early and shoot my best “tournament” rounds on them. That said, I am taking advantage of the two practice rounds, starting on Wednesday as an opportunity to scope out optimum landing spots, and get a feel for the greens. Hopefully with a previous US Senior Women’s Am under my belt, I won’t be as anxious this time around and can just relax and enjoy the entire experience, keeping it in the fairway and shooting scores that I know I’m capable of. "
We all wish Carrie (and Lenny) all the best!
