Manuel 2nd at New England Amateur
Fresh off a win one week ago at the Maine Amateur Championship, Topsham's Caleb Manuel continued his torrid play at the New England Amateur Championship this week. The Brunswick GC member fired an inward 32 on his last 9 of the tournament, including an eagle at the 17th hole, to make a spirited run at the title. In the end, his rounds of 72-67-68--207 (-9) came up one stroke short of eventual champion Cody Paladino of host state Connecticut.
Maine was represented well in the tournament, with five of six competitors in the field making the cut. Three Maine players ended up finishing in the top 10.
Mainers after three rounds:
2: Caleb Manuel (-9)
T8: Anthony Burnham (E)
T8: Mike Arsenault, Jr. (E)
T19: Will Kannegieser (+3)
T23: Harvin Groft (+4)
