Caleb Manuel Shoots 59 at Brunswick GC
Brunswick GC was one of the founding clubs of the MSGA over a hundred years ago, so needless to say there have been countless rounds played on the grounds there over the last century. None have ever been played like Caleb Manuel did it on Tuesday, May 26 though. The recent Mt. Ararat High School graduate and future University of Connecticut golfer fired a blistering 59 to shatter the course record. After bogeying Brunswick's difficult 6th hole, Manuel rattled off nine straight birdies followed by a chip-in eagle on 16 to get to 13-under. Pars on the last two secured the round of 59, one of golf's most revered numbers.
