Now Accepting Applications for 2020 Internships
The Maine State Golf Association is accepting applications for up to three (3) P.J. Boatwright Interns in 2020. This is a program offered by the MSGA and funded by the USGA. Click here for more information on the USGA's Boatwright Internship program.
The intern's prime responsibilities will be assisting the MSGA with day-to-day office support, junior golf tournaments, MSGA championships, and projects as directed by the permanent staff. This year the MSGA is specifically looking for at least one individual with a marketing major as it will embark on as Awareness and Marketing Plan in 2020. Knowledge of branding, marketing, social media and website analytics would be desired. Others with a background in data management and/or experience in Golf Genius would be a plus.
This is a 40 hour per week paid position, and candidates must be available beginning mid-May through mid-August. An understanding of golf is a must (though you need not be a scratch golfer). The hourly rate will be $13.50 per hour. Interns must have their own transportation to and from the MSGA office in Cumberland, ME, and are expected to travel to tournament sites, although we strongly encourage staff carpooling on those days. Travel to and from events is a MSGA reimbursable expense.
Familiarity with MS Excel and Word and a working knowledge of financial statements would be helpful. Strong communication, a willingness to work some long days, and organization skills are important. It is equally important to be a good team player.
Interested candidates should submit their résumés and letters of application to MSGA Executive Director Brian Bickford at firstname.lastname@example.org . No phone calls please. Deadline for application is March 15 or when suitable candidates are found.
