Caleb Manuel Competing at U.S. Junior Championship

Jul 15, 2019

Caleb Manuel of Topsham will be making his USGA Championship debut this week at the Inverness Club in Toledo, OH. The 17-year old member at Brunswick GC earned his spot in this event by earning medalist honors at a local qualifier in Stamford, CT last month, shooting 67 at Rockrimmon CC to lead all scorers.

Inverness has a storied history in American golf, having hosted six major championships, with four U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships. The club is often remembered for Bob Tway famously holing out a bunker shot on the final hole of the 1986 PGA Championship to beat Greg Norman by two strokes.

Manuel will tee off on Monday at 12:47 CDT and at 7:22 CDT on Tuesday. After 36 holes of stroke play, the field will be cut to the low 64 players who will advance to match play beginning on Wednesday.
