Club Team, Senior Club Team Events POSTPONED

May 13, 2019

As you are aware, this spring has been one of the toughest in recent memories for Maine golf. We have been experiencing near incessant rain over the last month with little in the way of heat to produce the turf-growing conditions our golf courses so badly need. As is such, the Club Team and Senior Club Team Championships slated for May 19 and May 20 have been postponed. The Club Team Championship will now be played on Sunday, June 30. The Senior Club Team Championship has been moved to Wednesday, July 17.

We understand that these changes in dates may create conflicts for some teams due to other existing plans. For players in both events, if the new dates work for you and your team, no action is required at this time. If your entire group is unable to compete on that day and you wish to give up your spot in the tournament(s), contact us at the MSGA and we will refund your entire entry fee.

Perhaps only one player in your group is unable to compete on the new dates but the rest of the team wishes to compete. Keep in mind that you may substitute another player from your club to fill that spot, so long as the new player meets the eligibility criteria for the event. If you need to make any changes to your team roster, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make those changes on our end.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It is our hope that by moving these events back later into the season that we can provide all competitors the best possible championship experience at these unique team events.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out to any member of the MSGA staff if you have any questions or concerns.
