2019 Championship Season Preview

Jan 14, 2019

The MSGA is pleased to announce the official men’s and women’s Championship event schedules for the 2019 season. From May to October we will be crowning champions across the Pine Tree State at some of the finest golf courses in Maine. Mark these events on your calendar today and start planning where you’ll be playing this tournament season!

The men’s Championship season is highlighted by the 100th playing of the Maine Amateur Championship in 2019. Portland CC will host the event, marking the 14th time the venerable Donald Ross course in Falmouth will serve as the backdrop for the Amateur. As one of the founding members of the MSGA back in 1917, we are thrilled to bring this championship back to one of our original member clubs for this historic event.

The women’s schedule is headlined by the Maine Women’s Amateur being played at Webhannet GC in Kennebunk on July 22-24. This will be the second year this event will be conducted by the MSGA following its successful merger with the SMWGA and WMSGA in 2018.

More information on the complete women's schedule will be released in the near future.

In all, the MSGA will conduct 17 men’s and women’s Championships throughout the season. Registration for all events goes live on March 15 at 9:00am.

In addition to our championship events, the MSGA conducts Weekend, Mid-Week, and Senior events from April through November, giving Maine golfers ample opportunities to get out and compete in fun and competitive events across the state of Maine. Those schedules will be released in the coming weeks.
