Maine Collegiate Championship Results
The 2018 Maine Collegiate Championship took place this weekend at Bangor Municipal GC. In all, ten mens teams and three womens teams competed for top honors among colleges and universities in the Pine Tree State. The team scores were decided by taking the best 4-of-5 from each team.
After two days of play, Husson University won the men's team championship with a strong score of 296 - 278 -- 574 (+6), besting the University of Southern Maine by ten strokes. Bowdoin College won the women's team title with a score of 351 - 342 -- 693 to beat Husson.
Individually, Husson University standout Gavin Dugas won the men's title with rounds of 71 - 67-- 138 (-4) to finish as the only player under par for two days. He won by five shots over Colby College's Jack Griffith.
On the women's side, Bowdoin's Caroline Farber won by seven strokes by shooting 78 -72 -- 150 (+8). She beat her Bowdoin teammate Emme McCabe.
