The New England Golf Association, established in 1926, is an amateur golf organization comprised of leaders from the six New England golf associations – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
In addition to conducting qualifiers for USGA Championships around New England, the organization's primary purpose is to conduct the following premier tournament events: New England Amateur Championship, New England Junior Championship, and New England Senior Championship.
Maine will play host to the New England Amateur Championship at Portland CC on July 17-19. This event will draw the top players from around the Northeast to the recently-renovated Donald Ross design in Falmouth. Non-exempt players who meet the eligibility requirements can qualify at any of four qualifying sites around New England, including one at Webhannet GC in Kennebunk on June 18.
