Player of the Year

The Maine State Golf Association has established Player of the Year awards in the following categories: the Dr. Leonardo Buck Player of the Year, and the Senior Player of the Year. These awards are presented annually to the players that accumulate the most performance points throughout the calendar year in their respective category.

Players earn points throughout the season as outlined by the Player of the Year (POY) system that has been established for each group by the MSGA Tournament Committee. In addition to naming a Player of the Year and Senior Player of the year each year, points are also used to determine eligibility into the Match Play Invitational, Tri-States, and can earn exemptions into MSGA and New England Golf Association events.

The Players of the Year are honored annually at the MSGA Annual Meeting dinner.
