A forecaddie may signal his estimate of the location of the ball struck by a player. These signals are purely informational. It is the responsibility of the player to decide whether or not to play a provisional ball when he believes the ball may be Out of Bounds or lost outside a Penalty Area.

The forecaddie should never make a ruling. Please review hand gestures used to indicate whether a ball is out of bounds, in play or safe, or if you are uncertain as to the ball’s location.
