Juniors in the Maine Amateur

In mid July, York Golf & Tennis Club hosted the 97th Maine Amateur. The field of 132 took to the course for two rounds in some of the warmest conditions of the summer thus far. After 36 holes the field was cut down to the top 40 and ties. Several of our current MSGA Junior Tour players, as well as a number of former MSGA Junior Players teed it up in Maine’s premier amateur golf tournament. Eric Dugas, Ryan Collins, Logan Thompson, Cole Anderson and Austin Legge were all in the field. Despite solid play Dugas, Collins and Legge missed the cut. Cole Anderson led the way for Junior Tour players after 36-holes, carding rounds of 72 and 73. A final round 75 meant Cole finished at 220, resulting in a tie for 16th place. Logan Thompson fired rounds of 72 and 79 for a 36-hole total of 151. Thompson’s 151 made the cut on the number, resulting in an exemption into the 2017 Maine Amateur at Brunswick GC.
